Perspectives on Peripheral Artery Disease
In the medical community, September is dedicated to bringing awareness of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and its process.

“Since the inception of my career as a vascular surgeon in 1982, I have encountered that leg pain and various symptoms of lower extremity complaints are usually misdiagnosed and misunderstood by the medical profession,” Dr. Tamez says in his latest publication in the San Antonio MD News July edition.
Dr. Tamez shares his perspective on PAD, its diagnosis and its treatment. Read more about his experience in the vascular medicine field and in providing tailored care for their PAD issues in the MD News online magazine.
For more information about PAD or PAD Awareness Month, please visit our Facebook page. We will host a health fair this month on September 23, 2017 from 8am to 2pm at our Main Ave. Medical Plaza (610 N Main Ave., San Antonio, TX 78205). We will provide free PAD screenings, Zumba classes, cooking demonstrations, and physician presentations. We hope that this community event will inspire San Antonians to prioritize their health and learn more about this disease, often known as a “silent killer”.
