COVID-19 Precautions and Recommendations
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been dominating much of the media’s attention recently. We want to urge our patients not to panic, but to keep up to date with necessary precautions and to follow the recommendations set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). To learn more about symptoms and prevention of COVID-19, visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov.
As a practice, we reinforced our policies already in place to safeguard our patients. One of the first safeguard measures you will encounter as a PVA patient is our enhanced phone screening/triage protocol. We are calling all our patients to confirm appointments and screening them over the phone to ensure that they don’t display symptoms related to COVID-19. We are also screening each and every individual before they enter the doors of any PVA medical facility. With this in mind, we ask that you keep your guests who accompany you to your medical appointment to no more than one (1) individual. We want to ensure that we take every precaution to avoid further compromising our patient’s health and we ask for your help in doing so.
In addition, we have reviewed proper hand hygiene, the use of gloves, masks, etc., and added environmental cleaning measures with staff.
We ask that you be patient with our practice as we may ask for pertinent health information over the phone to best service your needs while keeping patient safety a priority.
If you are uncertain if you should keep your medical appointment because you are displaying symptoms such as fever and cough or shortness of breath, we ask that you call us so we can conduct a screening over the phone.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at 210.237.4444 if you have any questions.
